Madisonville Set to Remember Fmr. Chief

Funeral services are set for a former Madisonville police chief. Jim West, 65, died at the Madison St. Joseph Health Center Saturday after suffering a snake bite.

He was police chief in Madisonville from 1981 to 1990. West also served in the Vietnam War and received numerous awards for his service, including three purple hearts, a silver star and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross.

Funeral services will be at 11am Wednesday at Elwood Baptist Church in Madisonville.
