Investigators are looking into whether three children killed in a Houston apartment blaze had been left unsupervised.
The twin three-year-old girls and four-year-old boy died at a Houston hospital shortly after being found unconscious yesterday in the burning apartment.
Houston Fire District Chief Tommy Dowdy says firefighters thought at first at least one teenage babysitter had been with the children. But he says no one could be found who appeared to have been in the fire.
Police tell the Houston Chronicle the children were being watched by an adult relative before the fire started. But the adult left the children in the care of two teenagers and left to go to the store. Police say the teens left the children alone at some point, and the children were found in the living room.
The fire started in the kitchen area.
