Two Children Die in Jasper House Fire

A house fire in Jasper County has left two children dead.

Authorities have identified the siblings as three-year-old Kameron Collins and two-year-old Kyah Collins.

Officials say the parents of the victims were not home when the fire broke out around midmorning yesterday.

Five other family members -- two adults and three children -- managed to escape from the house, located about ten miles north of Jasper.

The cause of the fire is sought.

Officials are looking at whether a towel put over a lamp in a bedroom may have contributed to the blaze.
