Governors to Talk Hurricanes in New Orleans

Hurricane recovery is on the agenda of this weekend's Southern Governors Association meeting in a place that took a big hit -- New Orleans.

The event is hosted by the association chairwoman -- Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco.

Blanco tomorrow will lead a bus tour of Hurricane Katrina-damaged areas.

Katrina slammed the Gulf coast last August, forcing several hundred thousand Louisiana residents to flee to Texas.

The governors on Sunday will focus on performance of the Emergency Management Assistance Compact during the 2005 hurricane season.

The association includes the governors of: Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, the US Virgin Islands, Virginia and West Virginia.
