Just two days after creating quite a stir on the A&M campus, the Young Conservatives of Texas were back out at Rudder Plaza protesting presidential candidate Barack Obama's policies, with eggs in hand.

"This egg represents the nest egg that all Americans try and build and save so that they don't have to work their entire lives," a member of the Young Conservatives of Texas told a crowd.

One onlooker said, "It represents what?"

It's a debate that picked back up right where it left off on Wednesday.

"You have to agree to hold yourselves and conduct of your activities in a manner which reveals the greatest ideals of Texas A&M," a passerby said.

"I'm sorry, we are well within our rights to express our freedom of speech," Young Conservatives of Texas Chairman Tony Listi said in response.

The eggs were still out, the pictures still present, and tempers once again heated about an anti-Obama carnival. Despite the fact that this time around, the egg toss wasn't aimed at the candidate himself but at his policies.

"It's not showing they're in support of any candidate," Janie Kunnathusseril said. "It's showing they're only against a candidate."

Janie Kunnathusseril says she upset at how the event is portraying Texas A&M.
So she decides to take things into her own hands, as she grabs an egg and throws it at the ground rather than at the intended target.

Other protesters opted to heat things up a different way....

"I'm going to eat it," one man yelled.

Several students cooked up the eggs on a griddle instead of throwing them at Obama's policies.

Although organizers say they were hoping for, "civil conversation about what we're trying to achieve here today", the event wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

"I think it's quite obvious what those eggs are used for," a supporter of the carnival said. "What are you promoting? This is a university that promotes diversity," another student fired back.

The girl asks, "How are we not promoting diversity?"

"By throwing eggs at a presidential candidate," the student said.

Like it or not, the carnival did manage at least one thing: it got people to talk.

"What you want is Barack Obama to be in charge," one Aggie tells his peers. "With the support of Congress," another student adds. "Yeah, a liberal congress, so he can do whatever he wants," he retorts back.

University officials were on hand at the anti-Obama carnival to make sure things didn't get out of hand and that all rules were followed.

I'm happy for you that KNOWN of this matters anymore. sheez So tell me, just how blissful is ignorance?? Looks like it is pretty great, with your ever so eloquent "YALL WERE BEAT" catch phrase. Wow, did it take you all of a half-second to come up with that comment of a 2 year old's rhetoric? I really do hope that Obama brings change, especially to YOU and others like you. Learn!

There goes your nest eggs YCT. ;) I guess you should have saved those eggs because according to you, all the middle and upper class are going to die of hunger.

Why is the egg throwing being considered racist? Just b/c a black man is the candidate aimed at? I guess if anyone votes for McCain, that voter a racist also, yes? And why are people deciding to vote for Obama, just because of the egg deal? Talk about stupidity all the way around. What about kids who throw eggs at Halloween time? I guess they're just a bunch of racists, huh? Oh, and go ahead, vote your way based on a minuscule occurrence...that makes you SO MUCH BETTER than a racist. pshaw! The display of ignorance in these comments astounds me horribly. You all think you know so much..but while you argue these mundane details, the 'upper mgmn't' is laughing... all the way to the bank.

To: Anonymous on Nov 4, 2008 @ 12:26 PM. Sounds like you're suggesting we should use the ostrich approach & bury our heads in the sand like you do. Try watching TBN sometime, instead of the literal news media. You might just see for yourself how this could all play itself out very soon.

To "very concerned": stop watching fox news before you stroke out over their fear tactics.

I believe that if Obama wins, Israel will be forced to take out the nuclear facilities in Iran shortly afterward, because Obama is not a friend of Israel. They must do so soon or they face certain destruction. WWIII will be the end result. I'm also sure that Chavez & Putin would love to see Obama in office. It would appear that another Cuban Missile Crisis is right at our door step. I hear that Chavez and the Russians are currently conducting join naval exercises. They are going to try their best to intimidate the US, especially now at election time. The world is currently a very dangerous place, so we can not afford to put a person in our nation's highest office with Obama's track record, with a Democratic majority in congress. Obama also wants to disarm the citizens of the US. History will repeat itself and our once great country will fall. Please, don't allow this to happen. Honestly, John McCain is the better choice in this presidential election!

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 4, 2008 at 09:45 AM
So, in all these posts, it has not been said, so I ask - why SHOULD I vote for McCain? You have all been very demonstrative as to why I SHOULDN'T vote for Obama, but can any of you tell me why McCain will be SO MUCH BETTER??

Posted by: Anne Location: Bryan on Nov 4, 2008 at 09:41 AM
To Jonathan on Nov 1, 2008 at 12:53 PM and MANY others, tell me this - HOW ARE WE BETTER OFF RIGHT NOW than we might or might not be with a different perspective? Our country has NEVER been more divided on every level - politically, economically and socially. People have to fear for their lives to have a differing opinion. I voted for Obama and I am proud of my choice. And frankly, would have voted for Snoopy as long as it means King George the Second will be GONE FROM OFFICE. No one has mentioned how so many people worship bush. So tell me, when did we elect him to be God? How much has he done for us? Are we all so better off under his reign that we can't even consider that a new tactic may be just what our country needs? You won't have an answer, but don't worry, I don't expect one because there is none!!

The Dems miss the point here.It will hit home quite hard when Hussien Obama hands this country over to the militant Muslimns that he and his wife so feverously support. As for me, I will stand by my white brothers and sisters when the winds of unrest blow against us. I will continue to keep my hard earned money, say no to insane taxation, work to get the free loaders off of medicaid and Lone Star cards and manufacture my own ammunition. Woe be to the blind masses led by a wolf in sheep's clothing

Same old same old, for someone that talks of change Obama has done the exact thing that lost Kerry the election in 04'. With NO reasons to vote for him but a ton of reason to vote against the other guy for the same exact reasons: Worst economy ever, stand aside Great Depression, endless/wrong war in Iraq, scaring the old people with lies about social security, getting out the uninformed/ignorant youth vote (which never materializes), and then screaming foul when you lose. I predict the election winner will be announced Wednesday if Obama wins, and a month from now if McCain wins. How anyone could put our country in the hands of a junior senator that doesn't have a single piece of legislation to his name is beyond me. You do realize that when a foreign power test Obama as Bidden said (like Iran attacking Isreal) that Obama cannot vote "present"?

We have people in California hanging Palen by the neck in a hangman's noose and it ok, but throw an egg at Obama and thats not right. What happen to free speech.Oh I guess if you are doing what the main stream media wants its ok.Maybe these students should have been making fun of Joe the plumber and ruin his name like everybody else in the media did when he ask Obama an intelligent question. maybe

These Anti-Obama people are extremely entertaining. After reading these responses one would think that Obama will morph into a three headed beast with the torso of lion, the wings of an eagle, an alligators tail and have the ability to spit fire and smite those who oppose him. Nontheless I will tell you what so many "real" Americans have told me when I didn't agree with the way the country was heading. I quote, "SHUT UP OR GET THE HECK OUT!". This message has brought to you by one greatly amused individual and protected by the 1st amendment. NOTE: Anti-Obamaians you just got served. LOL!

there seems to be so many who think the OBAMA supporters see him as a god or a saviour. where did this idea come from? he is an eloquent speaker, an educated man, and successful candidate for the office. no one has said hes' a god or a saviour. just because alot of people admire and support him does not mean they worship him. JESUS CHRIST IS LORD alone.obama may be the person he has chosen to lead this nation, but he is not a god. the bible says the powers that be are ordained of GOD, so who ever wins, we must believe that its' all in the plan of GOD.(for those of us who believe in GOD.)

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 3, 2008 at 08:06 AM
My gosh, these young Aggies that are against throwing eggs at a presidential candidate really do see Obama as a Savior. Are they really that stupid? If they are so upset about this, then how do they handle late night talk show hosts when they poke fun at our president? How do they handle it when our flag is being burned? Why are they not in California protesting the Sara Palin doll being hung off a roof? I don't understand this "Greater than thou are" attitude regarding a man, yes a man, named Obama. He is not a GOD, he is a man... just a man. This type of Savior thinking reminds me so much of the German youth and their Hitler. Beware!

Posted by: DISCRIMINATION? Location: BRYAN,TX on Nov 2, 2008 at 11:32 PM
i can't understand how the aggies for obama were not allowed to wear shirts with this logo, but this anti obama carnival is allowed and called "free speech". A&M supposedly did not want to appear to endorse either candidate. then why are these people allowed to hold this carnival? i see no difference. the democrats/ aggies for obama should have been allowed to voice their choice if this group was allowed this carnival. it just confirms that the school is unjust. it's being sued right now by a muslim who was discriminated against. its' clear this is a normal pattern and mindset in this school.

How dare you Thomas to say that Democrats want handouts and don't want to work??? I am a proud Democrat just like many other citizens of this country and we all work extremely hard for what we have and have no reason to ask for/accept handouts. I don't know what Democrats you know but you need to get your facts straight! Once again...how dare you???!!!

My child attends A&M and had Obama stickers on the door of his dorm. Kids were leaving harassing notes and even vandalized his message board as a result. It was surprising to learn how far right this school appears. How unfortunate my child could not support his candidate without unnecessary repercussion. Had we known this school was this conservative, we probably would have made another choice in regard to his education. As a result of the vandals behaviors, my son put even more stickers on his door and is determined not to let up or let these conservative bullies control what he does or who he supports for President.

I'm thinking, from past experience, that Pres. Gates would have run those people off for disgracing the honor of the university and the student body. It's funny how they couldn't have a rally telling us how McCain/Palin would get us out of the messes that Dubbya left us with. That's because they're promising us more of the same.

Posted by: Sz on Nov 2, 2008 at 01:30 PM
I am not an Obama supporter, however this kind of behaviour is childish and immature. A&M officals should have never granted permission for this kind of activity to take place (if they knew about the egg tossing) if in fact they didnt know, then responsibility falls to the childish individuals that put on this "carnival"...This is an egg on A&M'S reputation..

I am in utter disbelief the TAMU Administration would allow the YCT individuals to hold yet another rally just days after. What a shame we are in the public spotlight. My husband and I were interested in visiting with individuals at the Foundation regarding endowment of a scholarship, but after this little stunt our money will not be supporting TAMU and the poor choices of the Administration.

This is how A&M students are being taught to debate ideas now? What happened to public speaking and debate and a forum for ideas and the finer points of politeness and respect? How many thousands of dollars are students paying in tuition and fees to learn how to influence people and persuade them to change their minds? How much are we as tax payers paying for a state University to train egg throwers? We keep hearing about diversity being important and conservatives being important and politics. What is happening at A&M in research and education and training our next generation of leaders? How are the political policies of the partys affecting that? Are they advocating providing enough money to find a way to save people's lives medically or through search and rescue or to better understand our American culture? Are new sources of energy being found or armour to protect our troops or ways to explore space? Is anything other than a free speech egg being tossed around? Who's egg janitor?

Posted by: E Location: b/cs on Nov 1, 2008 at 03:38 PM
Right on, "white democrat'. It'll mess with their football! Also recruiting in general, and I don"t just mean the stated Vision 2020 diversity mandate. Would a serious academically-minded prospect be impressed/amused by this example of the 'other education'? A&M can cherish its history, and distinctiveness without fostering/subsidizing this sort of cynical, thuggish ignorance. There once was a time, perhaps before the Jerry Springer show, or reality TV, where the louts of this country saved their rants for drinking mates & family. Now the people most strident to be heard (publicly) are often the ones least equipped to say anything coherent.

TO aggiemom, they dont have to promote a particular candidate, they are just explaining the bad parts of Obama's campaign, Not to mention he isn't even a real US Citizen. That would rule him out anyways. Also you being an aggiemom know that your kid probably waists just as much food as a couple dozen eggs in The Young Conservatives demonstration. Besides you should praise the fact that young people are getting involved with politics.

Why are we voting for John McCain? because he is not a socialist!! He will not socialize medicine. He won't take your money, just because you are doing good in life and give it to other less fortunate! When you vote for Obama you are voting for socialism. You can make all the excuses you want, try to explain things away, try and compromise, try and white wash, believe your lies you're the only one who does, vote for Obama is voting for socialism. Look up the word, I am sure you don't know its definition. Hitler was a socialist until he was elected he became a totalitarian. When Obama wants to exclude people having access to him because he doesn't like what they say, wait till he is president. If he is elected you who elect him are going to be sorry mark my words, your going to wish you hadn't elected him, wait till he turns on you and he will.

The egg throwing certainly DEGRADES the reputation of Texas A&M University, not only the students but the University itself. No wonder we have so many problems in our world if these so-called young adults act like idiots.

Maybe they shouldn't have wasted them eggs. They will need it if Obama Bin Laden gets in office. The economy will be shot from all the free loaders riding the working class' heels! Bunch of deadbeats looking for free handouts. Have you ever wondered why those that vote Democrat are still poor? It's because they don't want to work for a living. The Democrats want handouts without the work.

I think it was the least way this organization could of shown hatred against Obama. Im a Republican and if i could vote i deff. wouldnt vote for him. So, why don't the young conservatives tell you WHY you should vote for their candidate? It sounds like they oppose Obama, but I don't see that they were telling you WHY their candidate was better. Perhaps they couldn't find a policy to promote? They are acting just like McCain does. All negative, no focus on the issues. Kudos to those who cooked up the eggs! I am sure the food bank in Bryan would have loved to have given those eggs to hungry people. What a waste.

As many have stated, I am glad to see some of us realize that no matter who you support this demonstration was tacky. The most alarming fact seems to be that many of the people who support this behavior have voiced their support very negatively in their comments. It seems to me that this behavior only makes the problem more apparent for independent thinkers like myself who are open to voting for a Democrat or Republican. That problem is that for some reason the "right" seems to always have the moral high ground and good Christian values. I don't recall Jesus labeling people nor being hypocritical. I don't recall him instructing us to judge people. In fact, I believe his philosophy was for those without sin to cast the first stone. In the future, focus on the strengths of your party and the needs of the people you wish to attract. It seems to be working for Obama and I bet it can also work for you. Thanks and God bless.

I am gonna pull out this piece and say "look what they do down there on their campus - you wanna go there?". Also, don't use the hanging Palin in Hollywood as a comparison. That was one tasteless guy, not something sponsered on a STATE UNIVERSITY. And the "nest egg" BS? What administration caused us older folks to loose great chunks of ours? At the end of the day these dweebs did way more to discredit the University than discredit Obama. In fact they persuaded many to not vote republican. Throwing eggs indeed! Junior high fodder.

I am glad that we live in America and have the Bill of Rights that protects free speech and the diversity of ideas. It upsets me that we all can't realize that! We have such a double-standard with accepting free speech... It's okay to send hordes of blood-thirsty reporters to Alaska to "vet" a Republican VP candidate, but it is not okay to question a Democratic President's choice of who he surrounds himself with (i.e. his wife, his preacher and his friends)? Regardless, I am glad that YCT finally rose above personal attacks to focus the demonstration on policies. That's essentially the type of debate the Bill of Rights was intended to protect! Fact is, we're going to be in a world of hurt if Obama, Pelosi and Reid have control over our economic policies.

Posted by: Barbara Location: College Station on Nov 1, 2008 at 07:07 AM
I cast my early vote for and support Barak Obama. However, I also fully support 100% the Young Conservatives of Texas' right to hold the egg toss carnival. It is an example of free speech and I fully support each sides right to free speech. Rather than cast A&M in a bad light by allowing the carnival, I think President Murano cast the university in a bad light by saying it did not represent A&M's values. Since when was the right to free speech and expression contrary to A&M values? Lighten up folks. It was a clever harmless event. I comment the Young Conservatives for coming up with the idea of showing graphically how in their opinion, an Obama victory will result in one's throwing their nest egg away. I do not agree with their assessment but I do agree with their right to express their views.

I'd like to thank STAFF MEMBER for his post. Right or left is not the urgent issue here. Its stupidity. 'Hwy 6 goes both ways' as a rebuke to criticism in an educational (ostensibly) environment, never a thought to what 'a University' really means. Or "Bring 'em on.". Or WMD's. Or "Brownie, you're doin' a heck of a job." Or voting for the man you'd rather have a beer with. Or the loss of Bonfire forever. Stupidity isn't down-home, or cute. Its costs continue to dominate the news, even if causality or accountability are scarce. I don't think any of this is elitism. But a university should be striving beyond such displays (e.g., via admissions?) And the 2020 reference? That was a mandate for change from 2 Univ. Pres.'s back. Back then, it included goals, like becoming a top-10 Univ. by 2020 (less evident in current incarnations), creating a culture of excellence, several diversity measures. There are thus fundamental reasons (not just perception) to denounce/discourage such buffoonery.

Poor Obama, he has been treated so poorly by the press. They have hounded him about his associations, his real record in congress, why he attended an anti american church, his shame of being an american, his liberl socialist views, his quasi christian beliefs, his shady financial dealing in the windy city. My gosh he has not had a break since he announced he was running. Everyone just needs to give him a break, someone running for the most powerful office in the world should not have to answer these types of questions or be placed under a mircoscope. We should just elect them becuase they promise some vauge policies, some kind of CHANGE, still not sure what that is, and dawg gone it he is such a great speaker and makes me feel for once proud to be an american. Lets just give him the job, because he's a nice guy and he deserves it after that horrible Bush. He can then appoint all his radical friends to cabinet positions and by gosh fix this horrible nations of ours.l

Obama supporters acting like thugs???? They weren't the ones throwing eggs! Grow up!!!!

Here is a little history for you consertive Rep. on your G.W. Bush. Who think this is right. I would never send a child of mine to a school who could even support such a disrespectful event. The term "secret society" is used to describe fraternal organizations that may have secret ceremonies, ranging from the common and innocuous (collegiate fraternities) to mythical organizations described in conspiracy theories as immensely powerful, with self-serving financial or political agendas, global reach, and often luciferian beliefs.Perhaps one of the most famous secret college societies is the Skull and Bones at Yale, of which like his father Prescott Bush (1917), initiated into the Skull and Bones secret society. both presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry are members from their college years. Many societies require members to take an oath at membership.Which can include a promise to support the organization, to keep its secrets, and you worried about Obama.

I actually got an egg and cooked it too, hope you know we aren't trying to act like "thugs". If that has any connotation, we want to show the nation that we aren't Aggies that stand to be wholly represented in such an ignorant way. The demonstrators said nothing when asked WHO they support, what their actual definition of "socialism" and "communism" were and provided no productive facts for McCain, let alone any other candidate. One demonstrator even said "We don't support McCain, we are just against the bigger of the two socialists". That's a truly skewed and pointless demonstration then isn't it? If it involves the poor representation of my campus, I'll be there to say something like the 200 people there in protest. Everyone has their right to freedom of speech, but when it poorly portrays a campus of considerate students (McCain & Obama supporters alike), we have the right to say something.

c,mon all you hardcore repubs. In the words of one of your famous alums, just lay back and enjoy it.

We have to go back to loving our neighbor as ourselves. You don't have to agree with someone but you should respect them as a fellow American. Think of all the hungry children in Brazos County that would have loved to have had scrambled eggs for dinner tonight. Perhaps the Young Conservatives could show their love for America by donating an equal number of eggs to the Brazos Valley food bank.

I got banned from texags.com for simply posting a link to the CNN video of this. The whole world can see it, but apparently not texags readers.

Gotta wonder why so many Obama supporters have to act like thugs. What are they going to do if he loses? Burn down campus?

Posted by: Craig Location: BCS on Oct 31, 2008 at 05:17 PM
A large number of YCT even said that they are not even going to vote in this election. Throwing eggs is also a waste of food that could have gone to starving children.

Posted by: Jas. Jackson Location: Texas A&M on Oct 31, 2008 at 05:16 PM
After talking to a YCT member, he claimed that the policies were very radical. That is his opinion. A friend asked him if he thought the event was radical and of course he said no. After asking what his definition of radicalism was, he would avert his answer to talking about the policy handout that he claims the information came from youtube videos. Last time I checked, youtube was not a credible source. God forbid if they do this again(minus the frivolous attention tactics), please have accurate literature, then maybe people will listen.

NO there is not a double standard here. NONE OF US HUNG AN EFFIGY OF SARAH PALIN. Both are Ignorant and Immature. What was done on Saturday crossed they line from free speech and went into trying to incite a riot. YCT is a hate group that republican party wants no association with. It is full of fools too narrow mined for the Aggie College Republicans.

Posted by: An Aggie With Pride Location: College Station, TX on Oct 31, 2008 at 05:11 PM
Nobody said any Obama supporter endorsed a burning of Sarah Palin's in effigy. No Aggie should support ANTI-candidate behavior. Instead you should support the candidate YOU want and the views you believe in. This demonstration showed ineffective and disrespectful tactics that made Texas A&M look horible nationally. As an Aggie, I'm extremely disappointed. We all have the freedom of speech, but we should be wise and practical as well as productive in the way that we do it. We should say no to BTHO OBAMA or BTHO MCCAIN and promote our own candidates without disrespecting the other, after all, one will be our president come Tuesday. This was an embarassing and primitive display of free-speech. The truth: NO ONE at this carnival disclosed ANY candidate they were in support of, said "They do not like John McCain". They never disclosed a proper argument to anyone asking questions, claimed they "Do not speak ebonics" and had nothing productive to give. A horrible showcase for Texas A&M.

Very immature and uncalled for, I've lost very much respect for A&M. Much shame on the sudents

Posted by: Qwert Location: Bryan on Oct 31, 2008 at 04:49 PM
Good for A&M if it was another mcain/palin protest they would be able to hang or burn effigies of them without any notice or comment from the mainstream media. You would not hear there supporters whinning, why you ask, well its simple we are used to that and realize its there right as US citizens to demonstrate, otherwise known as FREEDOM. However, I forget we are talking about his highness, Christ, demigod, Allah or other divine enity OBAMA, please forgive us for asking to many questions of him or wanting someone we trust more in the office. But I do agree with you in part, why act like Obama supporters we are better than them and should not lower ourselves to their level

Posted by: Alex Location: Bryan on Oct 31, 2008 at 04:29 PM
Crowd growing threatening? I guess that is part of the Vision 20/20 program to increase crime and thuggery.

Posted by: Katie Location: College Station on Oct 31, 2008 at 03:55 PM
As an Obama supporter, I attended this "rally" and was disgusted that they still had the nerve to have the egg throwing. There were signs there that read "Voting for Obama but Respecting McCain" and "Stop the Hate" etc. It was so awesome to see the support from people against this. many people took the eggs and threw them on the ground or threw them at the sign advertising for this carnival. It puts such a negative light on our school and it is just disgusting how this still went on after all of the outrage over Tuesday's event.

Posted by: Sally on Oct 31, 2008 at 03:44 PM
Does anyone chuckle to themselves at the fact that the majority of students "rallied" by the Anti-Obama Carnival won't even vote in Brazos County? The "rallying of troops" is essentially ineffective since they will vote in the precincts of their respective hometowns...

Posted by: Aggie12 Location: Walton Hall on Oct 31, 2008 at 03:43 PM
Wow, another carnival. Okay, I was voting for McCain but this is getting beyond ridiculous. I don't know why none of the young republicans have not talked aobut issues. The keep attacking the man not his policies. I am no Obama fan because of some of his stands on abortion and redistribution of wealth, but not because of his race. Nevertheless, since so many here in Aggie land and around the country have made this about race, as will cast a vote for Obama because of all the personal attacks that have been made. I was still voting for McCain until this crap pulled by the YR.

Posted by: Gabriella Location: CSTX on Oct 31, 2008 at 03:33 PM
Why do you have to throw eggs? Isn't it enough just to show up and vote against him? That is so disrespectful. Who is cleaning up the mess left by the eggs?

Posted by: JB Location: College Station on Oct 31, 2008 at 03:22 PM
The dumbest part about the nest-egg analogy here is that the issue of retirement savings is not one that would register as a major concern for college students. And as such, that means that the students that are proverbially throwing their nest-eggs away don't have a nest-egg to begin with. If the YCT really wanted to relate with students, maybe they should tell them that a vote for Obama is in effect throwing their parents' nest-egg away, and then afterwards they could hand the students miniature "these are your poor, sad parents in their dotage" dolls as a reminder that the students will have to take care of them once the retirement savings runs dry. But then the YCT would have to hire a doll-maker. And who can do that in these lean economic times?

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 31, 2008 at 02:43 PM
It's not ok to throw eggs at a picture of Obama, but it is ok to hand an effigy of Sarah Palin. Any double standard here?

Posted by: Jeff Location: College Station on Oct 31, 2008 at 02:27 PM
Like it or not, this is free speech. Just because you disagree, doesn't make it wrong.

Posted by: open mind Location: steephollow on Oct 31, 2008 at 02:23 PM
let it go young folks, dont any of you know when it is over? better swallow your bitter pill and wait four years and try again.

Posted by: Do What! on Oct 31, 2008 at 02:21 PM
I may not be a Obama Supporter. However, stooping so low to do this. Childish.

Posted by: SR Location: Campus on Oct 31, 2008 at 02:13 PM
Although the YCT might have some of his policies available for people to view, they do, however, still have pictures of not only Obama but also Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden. The egg toss is a ridiculous way to voice an opinion whether it be McCain or Obama and it makes Aggies look bad to the rest of the nation.

Posted by: disgusted Location: cs on Oct 31, 2008 at 02:13 PM
I am positively appalled that my school is lowering itself yet again by showing support for this carnival a second time around. This is only going to make A&M look even worse on the national stage, why in the world does the school keep allowing this? P.S. Old conservative is right on spot- all youre doing is giving Obama supporters more reason to head to the polls...so I guess on second thought...keep it up guys haha!

Posted by: Kyle Location: Bryan on Oct 31, 2008 at 01:54 PM
Freedom of speech applies to everyone, not just Obama supporters. However, no one has a right to not be offended.

What were they thinking, I think they are just being raises, I agree with maria it really looks bad on A&M, how could A&M let this happen, I dont think I want my som to attend A&M this spring anymore!!!!!!!

Posted by: aggie06 Location: college station on Oct 31, 2008 at 01:44 PM
why don't we get a pinata with McCain's head on it and have a bunch of people hitting it with a big sign that says "beat the hell out of McCain" I mean, we are just showing our aggie spirit...

Posted by: Katrina C Location: Wellborn on Oct 31, 2008 at 01:30 PM
I am 100% for freedom of speech, but just as tacky as the Palin thing in Ca. the Obama thing was just as bad. It made A&M look like a bunch of back woods racists and now the campus is going to allow the Young Conservatives to have a second chance? What will happen at the scheduled rally this time? Start out by throwing the eggs at the policies and then hang a scare crow with Obama's face on it? That should really make the YC's look professional. *sighs*

Posted by: Party Man on Oct 31, 2008 at 01:22 PM
Let's have an anti-obama party every day!

Posted by: Loser Police on Oct 31, 2008 at 01:17 PM
I think we should have an anti-obama carnival every day! Heck, let's even have a parade!

Posted by: maria Location: austin on Oct 31, 2008 at 12:52 PM
I think that it's okay to exercise opinion but the anti-obama festival is out of hand. It makes A&M look bad. :(

Posted by: Old Conservative on Oct 31, 2008 at 12:32 PM
This is double darn stupid. Why energize Obama's supporters and alienate a lot of mainstream Aggies? If you want to hurt his campaign start quoting all of his pre senate argumenjts for forcing banks to issue subprime loans...
