Getting a smoke-free room in a Marriott hotel is going to get easier.
The company, which is parent to Ritz-Carlton, Courtyard, Residence Inn and Fairfield Inn brands, says all of its more than 23-hundred locations in the US and Canada will be smoke-free beginning in September.
Chairman and CEO J.W. Marriott says in a statement that the decision reflects "a new level of service and care" for consumers and those working in the hotels.
Marriott says more than 90 percent of guest rooms are already non-smoking.
