For the first time ever, a Republican will serve as district attorney for Washington and Burleson Counties. Attorney Bill Parham defeated Democratic incumbent Renee Mueller by a 52 percent to 48 percent margin.
Parham worked as an assistant D-A for Mueller during her first term in office. He says he looks forward to renewing relationships he established back then.
"I think first and foremost when I was here before as the assistant district attorney, I had a really good working relationship with law enforcement here in Brenham," said Parham. "I need to do the same thing and establish that, between both offices, with law enforcement in Burleson County as well as Washington County."
Parham previously served as the district attorney for Waller County.
