A fatal one car accident occurred on Highway 6 and Old San Antonio Road on Friday. It happened around 10 a.m. at the Brazos and Robertson County line.
Authorities say 30-year-old Juan Rebollar of Bryan was traveling south on Highway 6 when he hit the guardrail, flipped over the bridge, and landed in the ditch under the overpass at OSR. Motorist, Steven Skrabanek, was traveling on OSR when the incident happened and called 9-1-1.
"I was coming from Normangee on OSR about to turn on Highway 6 North toward Hearne when out of the blue this vehicle came flipping and landed where it did between two bridges and that's when I called 9-1-1. It was very fast. Later as some people passing by stopped because I couldn't see what happened on top on Highway 6. They actually found a body that was ejected down in the ditch," said Skrabanek.
Paramedics pronounced Rebollar dead at the scene. Authorities say he was ejected from the vehicles. The car was on one side of the bridge and the man's body on the other.
Traffic was diverted for awhile but opened back up around 1.
DPS continues to investigate. That was the second accident this week involving a vehicle flipping off an overpass along Highway 6.
The first happened Wednesday at Harvey road and Highway 6.
