Los Lonely Boys say Bassist's Arrest a Misunderstanding

A spokeswoman for Los Lonely Boys says the arrest of the band's bassist on allegations he assaulted his fiancee was all a misunderstanding.

Police say they arrested 26-year-old JoJo Garza at an Austin hotel on Saturday. He was arrested on charges of assault causing bodily injury and possession of less than two ounces of marijuana. He was released on bond from Travis County Jail later that day.

Garza's fiancee Carina Lyn said through the publicist that the couple was being too loud and the incident was a misunderstanding. She apologized to guests and said she and Garza were very much in love and planning to marry.

Publicist Diana Baron says the band was in Austin celebrating last week's release of its new album, Sacred.

Austin police spokeswoman Laura Albrecht says police responded at about 10 am and found the woman had been assaulted and also found marijuana.

Baron declined to comment on the marijuana charge but said Lyn was unharmed and had protested the arrest.
