With so many apartment complexes in Bryan/ College Station, there are bound to be complaints.

However, some tenants in a College Station complex say they have good reason to gripe.

Residents at the Stadium View Apartments have been without hot water since Monday.

That's when the complex detected a gas leak and cut the gas off to the property's buildings.

"We're using all four of the burners to boil water and using it to carry water into the bathroom," said Jaimie Morrisroe.

Although water to the apartments was turned off Monday, it was back on Tuesday, but the gas wasn't, which has meant some icy showers.

"I finally took a freezing cold shower last night. I mean I was standing in the shower shivering going I'm warm, I'm warm, I'm warm," said Lindsey Rosewell.

"You don't think about it everyday when you get access to hot water but its really a problem when you don't have it," said Morrisroe.

The complex says its working to get the gas line restored, but there are a few hang-ups.

"Oh good, we don't even have water right now," said Morrisroe as she went to turn on the faucet.

Letters given to residents warn the hot water might not be back on 'til the end of next week.

"People in hurricanes got water back faster and there's been no disaster," said Morrisroe.

While residents may be feeling hot under the collar, all they've received from management is a cold shoulder and even colder showers.

"Like ice water," said Rosewell.

"I'm not out to get anybody, I just think there's some justice due for everyone that lives here, honestly several hundred people without water," said Morrisroe.

Update: Managers at Stadium View said the line had been repaired as of Friday evening, and that gas was to be restored that night.

As of 6p.m., residents say they were still waiting.

Residents say both gas and water is included in their rent. Managers at Stadium View say they haven't been authorized to offer any kind of concession for the week without hot water.

I guess you should live in Bryan

I live at Stadium View with two other roommates. This is an issue that, I'm sure we all agree, needs to be fixed soon. *** The management has been pleasant and frank about the matter, as they also live there too. _They're in this with us, folks_ I don't know where someone got the cold shoulder idea from. They're probably as upset as you that they feel like they've just froze to death in an uncooperative shower. But through all this, I've enjoyed hot showers every night thanks to A&M. And I've found another laundry shack at the adjacent complex just 50 yards down the road to give my quarters to. Furthermore, showertime recently has become a acceptable adventure for me and my roomies. So Ms. Jaimie Morrisroe and Lindsey Rosewell, all Stadium View residents, come on over to 2116 and we'll be your sherpa guides to a free hot shower on campus.

It does sound like a little long to fix. However, when it comes to gas leaks you cannot risk people's lives by cutting corners and patching it fast. I bet they had to dig or even bust concrete to correct the problem. Most likely it is not the owner's fault that this happened. It it were me I would offer a 10% credit on the next month.
