Plans for a Senior Center could get in motion at Thursday's College Station city council meeting.
City staff will recommend the hiring of a firm to develop a conceptual design for the facility, which would be a meeting and recreation place for seniors. The cost to hire the firm would be $75,500, that according to Steve Beachy, the director of parks and recreation.
If the council approves the firm's hiring Thursday, a firmer plan would be done after the first of next year. That would include what the floor plan will look like, the building elevations, site location, and cost estimate to build it.
The council could then ask for a bond election to pay for the project.
