Two Bryan residents got more than just letters in their mailbox earlier this week. Their mailboxes exploded and were damaged.
Residents at the 3500 block of Green Oaks and the 3700 block of Holly Drive reported a loud bang outside their home Monday night between 10:30 and 11:00. The next morning they found a damaged mailbox with a white liquid inside.
Police are calling it criminal mischief and say a plastic bottle containing vinegar and baking soda was placed inside the mailboxes. There are currently no suspects. The crime is a class A misdemeanor, punishable up to a $4,000 fine, one year in jail, or both.
If you have any information call Bryan police at 209-5200 or Crime Stoppers at 775-TIPS.
