A Waco man walking along Highway 6 was killed early Monday morning after being hit by an 18-wheeler.
The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. just north of Benchley in Robertson County.
According to the Department of Public Safety, Farrell William Crittenden, 45, of Waco was walking along the northbound shoulder when he was struck by a truck traveling in the same direction.
Crittenden was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured and was not cited.
Officials are waiting on toxicology reports from both the driver of the 18-wheeler and Crittenden before concluding their investigation.
