The rush is on to area retailers at Texas' tax free weekend is underway.
With school about start up again for students, back to school supplies are expected to the big sellers at stores like Target over the next three days. The 8.2 percent sales tax is gone for many items under $100, and that means stores are gearing up for an influx of customers.
"Certainly, there's traffic increases quite a bit, but we have our staffs well planned out this weekend and production people on board, throughout the season in fact," said Chuck Simmons with the College Station Target. "We hire out especially for this season with back to college time as well. So we're certainly prepared."
This is the eighth tax free weekend in the state.
