A Houston man accused of murder in Washington County was being held in the Washington County jail Monday on $500,000 bond.

Jessie Lee Waller, 45, turned himself over to authorities Sunday after a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to Washington County Sheriff's officials.

The Washington County Sheriff's office believes Waller is responsible for Saturday's shooting death of 48 year old Jordan Dennis Gans, Jr. Authorities say the two men got into an argument at a house party around 8 p.m.

Officials said following a struggle, Waller pulled out a 22-caliber revolver and shot Gans in the chest.

Gans was taken to Trinity Medical Center in Brenham, where he was later pronounced dead.
