Some simple miscommunication has sent a rezoning request back to College Station's Planning and Zoning Commission for review.
At Monday's city council meeting, a small group of residents from the Tarrow and Banks Street area said they didn't get a chance to voice their opinion on proposed rezoning of four lots on less than half an acre of land nearby. They received conflicting information about where the P&Z meeting was to take place, and when they arrived, the hearing was over.
The citizens respectfully asked to have the chance to be heard on the item, and the council obliged, sending the issue back to P&Z at a future hearing.
The land is currently zoned as Light Commercial and Single-Family Residential. The property owners want to rezone the land for townhomes.
