VICTORIA, Texas -- Authorities are awaiting autopsy results for a man who slipped and fell on a stake while refilling a deer feeder in the back of his truck.

Victoria County Sheriff's officials say 35-year-old Ashley Lehmann, of Spring, died after he was impaled on a stake used to support the feeder.

The Victoria Advocate reports another hunter found Lehmann dead at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Justice of the Peace Henry Welfel has ruled Lehmann's death an accident, but the investigation is ongoing.

An autopsy will be conducted at the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office to determine the exact cause of death. The results could take up to a month.
