NEW YORK (AP) - Oklahoma is ahead of Texas in the BCS standings and headed to the Big 12 championship game with an inside track to the national title.
A three-way tie between Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech atop the Big 12 South standings forced the league to use its fifth
tiebreaker, best BCS rating, to determine which team will play
Missouri on Saturday in Kansas City, Mo.
The Sooners, who lost to Texas 45-35 in October, edged out the
Longhorns by a hair. Oklahoma has a .9351 BCS average. Texas' BCS
average is .9223.
Oklahoma is a point ahead of Texas in the USA Today coaches'
poll and six points behind the Longhorns in the Harris Interactive.
The computer ratings preferred the Sooners and that made the
difference.

45-35 Sooners, 45-35. Laugh all you want, it still won't go away. 45-35. 45-35

All it takes is any involvement by The University of Texas and Aggies will lose whatever sense of reason they might have ever had.

LOL, I hear that! Im GLAD it wasnt the Red Raiders! Im not a Raider or Longhorn fan, but I would rather see the Longhorns over the Red Raiders, because Red Raiders are RUDE! ( Yes, I know our students arnt angels either) I work @ the Aggie football games (at home) and Red Raider fans are the most rude fans of all the teams we play. Im glad that next year we play the Red Raiders in Lubbock and Longhorns play here

All during the A&M / tu game the ABC announcers kept saying that Texas was trying to make a statement by the way they were playing and the score. How could you possibly make a statement when you are not playing a team that was the same caliber. If A&M was equal to Texas and they played and all things turned out equal, then yes, they made a statement. But sorry, they did not make a statement on the scoreboard or with the stats. Better luck next year Horns.

I have to agree with some of what Jason 1:34 said. thomas, if you think more than 10% of college football/basketball players are there for an education, then you are the "stupid and irresponsible" one. Most of them would rather get drunk or do as many "girls" as they can before they ever ever even care about grades/school. They just want some bling bling. They might not be able to add 2 2 but they gotz dem rims on da Hummer..........

LET THE CRYING START, BOOMER SOONER...LOL GO BOB GO

Thomas - Get a clue. Do you actually think that most of these kids actually care about an education? Most of these kids are looking for the best football school to go to so they get the best possible shot at the NFL. Sadly, very few major sports participants at big time schools are there for education. These schools are not looking for the best students that can play a little ball, they are looking for the best players that can be accepted into the school. Yes, these people are not bright for failing to take full advantage of the opportunities before them. LW - If Florida wins the SEC, and the sooners win against Missouri, then it will be OU #1 & UF #2. In order for Texas to be in the pic, both OU and Alabama would have to lose. It could happen. I doubt it will but, it could. A Florida win jumps them to 1 or 2. All i have to say is Roll Tide and Boomer Sooners!!!! Or Chomp em Gators and Boomer Sooners!!! Whatever it takes to keep tu out of the title game is what I want.

"I don't care for the Longhorns,,,but they got the shaft." Actually, they didn't; it took the entire first half for them to wear down an Aggie defense that, to be perfectly frank, stinks on ice... and while they beat the Sooners, they didn't beat Tech, who those Okies took to the woodshed pretty good...

W e l l, If Alabama loese to Florida (I think they will)then Oklahoma moves up to number 1 (if they beat Missouri, I think they will) then Texas will move up to number 2, and play O U again for the big title.....

I don't care for the Longhorns,,,but they got the shaft. If they beat the Sooners,,,the Sooners shouldn't get to go ahead of them.

you know i may not like the Texas longhorns..but i think the BCS did them wrong Oklahomo's don't deserve it

Posted by: Kyle Location: Bryan on Nov 30, 2008 at 04:55 PM
Since it could not be the Aggies, at least it wasn't Texas Tech.

Posted by: Thomas Location: College Station on Nov 30, 2008 at 04:23 PM
Who really cares! These players are nothing more than a bunch of spoiled brats. Most of them are too stupid and irresponsible to take advantage of the FREE educational opportunities that are given to them. It is one more sign of the misplaced priorities in our society that is steadily going over a steep cliff.
