It was a record breaking year for a giant feast aimed at feeding the hungry in the Brazos Valley.
Tuesday was the 13th annual "Feast of Caring" benefiting the Brazos Valley Food Bank.
Area residents who attended the event at the Brazos Center received a meal of beans, rice and sausage.
The meals were free, but lunch-goers could make donations to the Brazos Valley Food Bank.
This year's event raised $6,700 in donations and $11,500 in sponsorships, according to Brazos Valley Food Bank Executive Director, Theresa Mangapora.
The KBTX-TV Food for Families Food Drive is scheduled for December 7 at the Brazos Center in Bryan.
