The Bryan Police Department is putting its best face forward as it seeks accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, or CALEA for short.

A group of assessors will go over every aspect of the department's operations.

If received, the coveted CALEA accreditation is good for three years.

There are only 22 accredited police agencies in Texas. Among them, the College Station Police Department

With the accreditation process comes the opportunity for public comment. And two opportunities present themselves on Monday.

The main forum for public comment is a public hearing set for Monday at 6:30 p.m. in city council chambers at the Bryan Municipal Building.

But if you can't make the hearing, you can call 209-5396 Monday from 1 to 5 p.m.
