Brazos Valley schools had a strong showing in an important federal evaluation program. Of the more than 380 schools in Region VI, only 10 failed to meet the requirements of the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) report.
As announced Wednesday, four of the 10 were Bryan ISD schools. They include Bryan High School, ACE campus, GRAD campus and SFA Middle School. The remaining six announced Thursday are: Brazos School for Inquiry and Creativity; Brenham High School; Brenham Junior High School; Hearne High School; Hearne Junior High School; and Hearne Blackshear Elementary.
In all, 81 percent of all Texas schools met federal AYP standards. The annual evaluation is part of the "No Child Left Behind" Act.
