The naming of a new College Station economic development director may be slightly on hold, but the city will soon move forward on two other vacancies.
City officials say six candidates for the two assistant city manager positions will be announced Friday. That list will include Mark Smith, the director of public works, who is serving as an acting assistant city manager right now.
As for the economic development post, City Manager Glenn Brown is still trying make contact with some people in that search, and will likely push the announcement of a lone finalist to next week.
A second assistant city manager post was created as part of city staff restructuring recently.
The economic development director spot came open after Kim Foutz left for a new job in Temple.
