As of December 31, 2008, a tentative agreement has been reached between Suddenlink and KBTX News 3 to continue carrying all television broadcasts as normal.
Viewers will continue to be able to receive regular KBTX news broadcasts, as well as CBS or CW programming, without any interruption.
Although key terms of the new contract have an effective date of January 1, 2009, an extension has been granted as additional time is required to complete negotiations concerning the specific language of the contract.
The extension of normal programming while the new contract terms are finalized will include all Suddenlink customers in many surrounding communities, including Bryan-College Station, Hearne, Caldwell, Brenham, Huntsville, and Navasota.

forget cable, get cracking on getting dish sattellite service for the local net. I am tired of paying for bad coverage by the Waco networks.
KBTX is a alright TV station. They only have highlights of stories where as ABC 40 have it all. The background at KBTX is unprofessional where you see people walking around in and out of doors, and sitting around. My goodness do something this is so tacky. And as far as the Christmas decorations, get a professional, the decorations you guys have are so back dated. ABC 40 had a Christmas Tree in their background and there is not room for anyone to be walking, and I thought this was so Christmasy. KBTX needs a make ove..............
As evidenced by posting comments critical of KBTX, we appreciate input. It is with that spirit I ask for clarification on a posted comment. Name caller: referring to your statement: "old news stories air on KBTX days or weeks after they appear on other stations or in the newspaper..." - please - we need specifics. We're not saying this NEVER happens. Right now, I just can't recall when. Our goal is to always be first. It is unrealistic to think we can accomplish that, but the effort to do this increases daily. KBTX depends on a number of sources for information. As always, our door is open for suggestions. I'll be waiting for specific examples of days-old/week-old news stories. News Director Mike George or any team member of News 3 appreciates input. My e-mail: wright@kbtx.com. Mike George: george@kbtx.com. Feel free to call me directly: 979-595-1501. We're listening, and we take our responsibilities seriously. Be in touch, and above all, Happy New Year. Mike Wright KBTX-TV
