A portion of Highway 6 was shut down for about an hour after a car struck a power pole.
It happened around 1pm in the southbound portion of 6 near the OSR exit near the Brazos-Robertson County line. Authorities say a 19-year-old driver from Hearne was heading south when she lost control and slid into the pole. BTU crews were on scene to quickly repair the damage.
The driver was taken to St. Joseph with injuries that aren't believed to be life-threatening. Authorities say she was unlicensed and may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
Traffic was backed up southbound for a few miles while crews cleared the scene.
