Convicted murderer Justin Fuller says he was in the vicinity when a Tyler man was killed -- but denies firing the fatal shots.
Final appeals are pending as Fuller faces execution Thursday night over the 1997 abduction, robbery and killing of 21-year-old Donald Whittington the Third.
Three other people were convicted for their roles in the slaying and received prison terms.
Fuller, whose 28th birthday is next week, would be the 19th Texas death row inmate executed this year in Huntsville.
That would equaling the total executions in the nation's busiest death penalty state for all of 2005.
