Crews recovered the body of Charles Gilbert Grounds, 37, around 8:30 p.m.
According to authorities, Grounds had been fishing on Wednesday and was missing for two-and-a-half hours before his body was discovered.
An autopsy has been ordered at the Conroe Medical Examiner's Office, but police say they don't suspect foul play.
The incident happened near the lake's soccer fields on the north side.
