College Station Sees Car Break-In Increase

Just like their neighbors to the north, College Station authorities are also reporting a rash of car burglaries in the past week.

Since August 23, there have been 19 reported burglaries at a variety of locations around town, as well as a pair of rim or tire thefts. Among the stolen items: stereos, tool sets, and even just some loose change.

In nine of the crimes, the vehicles were left unlocked by their owners. The other ten had windows smashed in or locks pried open.

Bryan Police recently reported 21 vehicle burglaries in the month of August.

Authorities are urging that you keep your cars secure and to not leave valuables in plain site if possible.
