Blinn College has enlisted the help of community businesses to get students involved on and off campus.
For the third year, Blinn hosted Community Scene Investigation, or CSI Day.
Students on Thursday were educated on programs and services in the area, while finding out about volunteer opportunities in the community.
Research shows that new students decide within 6-8 weeks whether they will stay at college or return home, according to Blinn College officials. By embracing the thousands of new students on campus each fall, Blinn hopes to retain them.
