A 49-year-old man is being questioned in connection with the death of the elderly aunt of "Dateline NBC" anchor Stone Phillips.
The man, whose name has not been released, remained in the Ellis
County Jail late Sunday night.
Authorities say the man led investigators Friday night to an abandoned farmhouse outside Bardwell where they found the body of 81-year-old Doris Phillips.
Phillips disappeared from her Reagor Springs home on July 26th. The Ellis County Sheriff's Department would not say how the woman died.
Lieutenant Clint Tims says the investigation is ongoing.
The man being held is described as a longtime friend of the woman. He was linked with an undisclosed item missing from the woman's home and has been charged with burglary.
Bardwell is about 40 miles southeast of Dallas.
