Blinn College in Brenham is inviting people to a free day of music.
Come this Saturday, it will be the 38th year for Blinn College to host the Buccaneer Marching Band Festival. It's a chance for marching bands to get ready for UIL competitions with a trial run in front of a panel of judges and a live audience. It's expected that around 5,000 people including band members will attend the event.
"It's the time of the year when just like the sport season as the season gets going the teams are better, the bands are better now because they're getting ready for so they're going to get to see bands at their peak," said Larry Campbell, Fine Arts chair.
The event is also a fundraiser for the Blinn College band and in the past years they've raised up to $6,000 at festivals.
There are 34 high school bands along with the Blinn College band scheduled to play this Saturday.
