A pair of suspected car-jackers, last seen in the Huntsville area, remained on the loose Tuesday night.

Authorities say the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. That's because they're believed to be the same two who earlier robbed and shot a Trinity resident.

Trinity Police say the suspects stole the victim's 2004 green Dodge pickup. The vehicle was discovered abandoned at a Huntsville apartment complex around 1pm Tuesday.

A manhunt was immediately launched with officers on the ground and a DPS helicopter searching from the air. Three schools in the vicinity were put on lock down until school was out.

A Huntsville police spokesman said officers will continue looking through the night.
