A bizarre car chase had local authorities in pursuit of a suspect for about an hour.
Juan Echeverria was suspected of driving under the influence on Highway 6 Friday night. Officials say when the 24-year-old from Chappell Hill was stopped and his tequila was taken from him, Echeverria sped off. Even after his tires were shredded by police in Bryan, Echeverria was able to keep driving for 45 minutes.
After driving on various back roads and highways, Brazos County authorities were able to stop him on foot in a corn field.
For evading arrest, drunk driving and an invalid licence, bond is set at $84,000.
