A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Milam, Robertson, Leon Counties until 9pm Monday, for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Montgomery,San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, and Washington Counties until 7pm Monday, and for Lee county until 1am Tuesday. Widespread 2" to 4" rain accumulations are possible through Monday, with localized 8" to 11" possible.
An empty staff position for the city of College station is filled. Terry Childers was named Deputy City Manager.
Childers has been working as the interim assistant city manager since June. In a press release Wednesday from the city, it stated Childers originally came on in a consulting role.
In other city staff news, the second deputy city manager position remains unfilled. According to the city, a decision on that position will be made in the near future.
In an earlier interview, City Manager Glenn Brown said he hoped to have both assistant city managers hired by October 1st.
