While severe thunderstorms affect us in the Brazos Valley year-round, Mother Nature is known to throw most of her curve balls in the spring months of March through June.
As it is referred to, Severe Weather season identifies the time of year when the potential for severe thunderstorms and severe weather outbreaks increase.
Despite the designation of a season, severe thunderstorms can affect us in the Brazos Valley throughout the entire year.
Since 1950, we have seen 309 tornadoes, 833 hail reports and 1018 reports of damaging winds in the Brazos Valley *. That breaks down to 37 actual severe weather incidents per year.
