The Alice and Erle Nye Academic Center has been dedicated on the campus of Texas A&M for use by the school's student athletes.
In all, there are 29 tutoring rooms, a 50-station computer center, and the facility is large enough for all 600 athletes to use at the same time.
The center's namesake, Erle Nye of Dallas, graduated from Texas A&M in 1959 with a degree in electrical engineering. He was a member of the Corps of Cadets and is a past chair of the Texas A&M University Board of Regents. He still serves on that board.
