Bryan Police joined fellow area law enforcers in one of a series of meetings on tourism security.
Rabbi Peter Tarlow, an expert in travel and tourism, has been meeting officials from Bryan and College Station PD's and the Brazos County Sheriff's office.
The goal is to bring the sides together and come up with sound strategies as the cities and county grows. Tarlow says its essential for an area striving to become a major destination.
"Law enforcement is here not only to protect our visitors, the local population, the staff, the sites, the places that people visit, but also the economy and the reputation of the area," he said.
Some of the big upcoming items for local authorities are a state law enforcement conference in November and an upcoming security assessment of the region.
