The cookoff Friday in Snook gave way to music as Chilifest 2009 wrapped up Saturday evening.

The day saw thousands descend upon the tiny Burleson County town to enjoy some live music.

It's all for a good cause, as a number of charities benefit from the bucks raked in this weekend at an event that continues to expand.

It's grown to this, 30-40,000," Luis Rodriguez said of the crowd. "I mean, it's great. It's a lot of fun, but they don't know that this helps out a lot of people in the community."

Robert Earl Keen headlined Saturday night's festivities. Pat Green was on the stage before that.

Burleson County authorities staged themselves nearby and worked traffic control when the event ended a couple hours after this footage was shot. Saturday evening, Burleson County authorities said the exodus from Snook had gone smoothly.

kim, once again you are wrong. All money goes to charity except what is kept to continue running the event for the next year. Over 250,000 donated last year. That not good enough for you? Also, no pits or generators have been stolen in the past years, mainly because they started putting cattle stickers on peoples stuff. There have been nothing stolen since they started doing that.

Yeah, how many people went to support a charity event? And how many pennies to the dollar actually went to charity? The benefit definately does not support the casue!

Most of the stuff left out there is just junk, but there are a lot of generators and pits that are stolen every year, there are too many people coming back to get the stuff and a little extra. there is no control over what they take out. The guys that clean up, do not get paid enough for what they do, so if they try to make an extra buck on cans..than let them.
