Officials in Hempstead say football player Michael Thompson is out of the hospital after his collapse during Friday night's game.
As we told you during Friday Football Fever, Thompson was on the field when he fell to the turf due to exhaustion. Athletic director Bobby Spain was on the field as soon as Thompson fell, and said the junior cornerback and wide-out never lost consciousness or stopped breathing.
The game was called following Thompson's collapse, with Lexington on top 28-0.
Spain said they will closely monitor their player's condition before sending him back onto the field.
Thompson was making his first career start.
