The city of Bryan and its police department are in shock after the sudden death of one of its own. Jim Do, 34, died while off-duty late Monday afternoon.
According to police it happened about 5:15 PM. Apparently, a Bryan resident called 911.
Medics tried to stabilize Officer Do for transport to St. Joseph Regional Health Center, but he was unable to be revived.
An autopsy is pending.
Officer Do was a graduate of Texas A&M University. He joined the Bryan Police Department in August 1999. Officer Do served as a patrol officer and a member of the tactical response team.
As a result of his death, the city of Bryan has postponed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Justice Center, scheduled for Tuesday.
