Summer temperatures continue to hang on in the Brazos Valley and rain is still in short supply. To help livestock producers cope with this years dry season, the government has issued about 16 million dollars in grants.
Those eligible must have suffered livestock or production losses between March 7 and August 31 of this year.
"Producers wanting to apply to receive drought assistance can pick up an application at their county Extension office," said Kyle Smith, Extension associate director for county programs.
216 counties in Texas qualify, and most of our area counties are on that list.
