Housing costs in the US are straining budgets according to a national study, and College Station made the list. The Census Bureau says Americans are spending more of their paychecks on housing.
In the past five years, the percent of homeowners with a mortgage at least 30 percent of their income increased about eight percent.
Boulder, Colorado, and College Station held the record for renters who spend the majority of their income on housing.
The study doesn't mention how many are college students with little to no income.
