A strong bow shaped line of showers and thunderstorms, which currently extends from Madisonville to Navasota to Brenham, continues to race off to the east at 30 mph.
This line of storms has had a history of producing strong winds, heavy rain, and cloud to ground lightning.
In addition, a few of the storms have shown signs of rotation, indicating that the threat for tornadoes still exists.
For that reason a tornado watch remains in effect until 2 p.m. The threat for severe weather will quickly diminish once the main line of thunderstorms moves through your area.
However, the threat for flooding will exist throughout the remainder of the afternoon.
