A seemingly harmless horse ride turned tragic for a young Anderson man. Patrick Busa, 21, was killed Thursday when he was struck by lightening while leading his horse through a gap.
Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell says the accident took place shortly after 5 p.m. near FM 1774 about three miles south of Anderson. Sowell says Busa and two cousins were out riding when a thunderstorm blew through. The trio was headed for cover when lightening struck Busa, killing him and two horses. The other two riders were not injured
