It's an animal cruelty case that has the animal's owner up in arms.
Bryan police say the owner found her horse dead Friday morning from an apparent slash to the throat.
The incident happened in the 4000 block of Old College Road in Bryan.
Authorities say all signs show the killing was intentional and unlike other animal cruelty cases.
"We have animals that are in neglectful situations and we can actually seize and remove them and improve their conditions in some way shape or form," Patti Stepp with Animal Control said. "Usually we have animals to save, and we didn't have an animal to save this time."
Suspects have been identified, but no arrests have been made.
The investigation is on-going.
