Three motorcyclists have died in the last three months in Grimes County.

The latest has a Bedias man facing criminal negligent homicide charges for a crash that authorities say he caused.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Robert Mills, 18, hit a motorcyclist with his pickup truck on Saturday when Mills turned into a Grimes County driveway.

Bradley Marveggio, 49, of The Woodlands was ejected from his bike and later died at the hospital, officials said.

DPS officials say Marveggio was wearing a helmet.

It will now be up to a grand jury to determine if the district attorney's office will pursue the charges against Mills.

The month of May is Motorcycle Awareness Month.

According to DPS, there are 908,665 licensed motorcyclists in Texas. Almost 400 motorcyclists were killed in crashes in 2007.

Officials remind drivers to take an extra moment to look for motorcycles, whether you're changing lanes or turning at intersections.

I have known Brad for many years, I have ridden to Sturgis with him. He was coming to ride with his friends in Arkansas on what ended up the day of his funeral. I am disturbed at the comments about bikers and their need to pay closer attention. Many, if not a majority of the close calls are caused not from the rider not paying attention but rather the drivers of automobiles not paying attention. Brad will never be forgotten but greatly missed by anyone whom he came in contact with.

I worked with Brad on a daily basis. We lost an amazing person. We had an ROT trip planned for June ans we often talked about it. We miss him everyday at work. My job expressed great sorrow when they received the news and that says a lot about a person. To his children, he was amazing and I am greatful to have met your dad.
