A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Madision, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, & Washington Counties until 8am Saturday morning.
On Monday, October 23 the Texas Department of Transportation's contractor will begin work on several shoulder widening projects in Brazos County.
The construction will be on FM 2776, from FM 974 to Dilly Shaw Road and on FM 974, from FM 2776 to Mancuso Road.
These projects are funded by special funds as part of the State Safety Bond program spear-headed by Senator Steve Ogden to improve safety for the citizens of Texas.
These projects will involve lengthening culverts and adding three-foot shoulders to existing roadway.
Daily lane closures will occur in various locations throughout these projects.
Motorists are asked to obey all warning signs and be prepared to stop for daily traffic control.
These $1.7 million projects are contacted to Young Contractors out of Bryan, Texas.
These projects should be complete in approximately eight months.
