It's been a long time coming, but the construction of Bryan's Justice Center is officially underway.
At a ceremonial ground-breaking Tuesday afternoon, members of the city's staff, the police department and the municipal court all hailed the center as a major necessity for the city.
It will mark the first time in history that the police department will be housed in a facility built specifically for it.
Along with the police department, the municipal courts will also be housed in the 63,000 square foot building, which is due to be finished in early 2008.
