Area senior citizens received a lesson in African American history on Wednesday.
The Brazos Valley African American Museum hosted Senior Citizens Appreciation Day.
About 30 local seniors toured the museum free of charge.
Patrons also heard from the museum's founders, Mel and Willie Pruitt about how the museum began as just an idea and developed into a reality.
The African American museum opened its doors to the public in July.
