An error in one local candidate's latest ad came as a surprise to both the candidate and a supposed endorser.
In Wednesday's "Bryan-College Station Eagle," County Court at Law #1 candidate Amanda Matzke was advertised as having been endorsed by the College Station Police Department. However, CSPD says it is against their policy to endorse candidates, and that they did not endorse Matzke.
In fact, Matzke says, it was the College Station Police Officers Association that made the endorsement. The Republican said it was a mistake on her advertising designer's part and the incorrect ad was inadvertently delivered to The Eagle for publication. A retraction will run in an ad Thursday.
Democrat Allen Segal is opposing Matzke in that race.
