19-year-old A&M Sophomore Serena C. Swanland has been identified as the woman killed in a wreck near Hearne Thursday evening.

According to DPS, Swanland lost control of her car and skidded into on coming traffic before being broadsided by a pickup truck. The accident happened on U.S. 190, one-tenth of a mile north of Old Bryan Highway in Robertson County. Troopers say Swanland was not wearing a seat belt.

The couple in the pickup truck were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. A DPS Trooper says the couple was wearing their seat belt.

Meanwhile DPS Troopers are looking for a possible witness to the fatal accident. Investigators want to talk with a driver of a third vehicle who saw the crash. Onlookers said a man driving a white Chevrolet pickup truck had stopped briefly after the crash and spoke with other witnesses. Here's a description of the possible witness:
*Male about 6 feet 2 inches tall
*Black curly hair,
*Dark skin tone, good teeth
*Foreign accent, possibly French.
*Muscular, wearing white pullover shirt with blue jeans

Anyone with information about the location of this witness is asked to call DPS at 979-776-3131.
